Bad Habits That Can Make Leaking Worse
Movement & Strength Assessment
but I know that’s not the case for many, which is why I created this online program to empower you with the tools I teach my patients.
Hi! I'm Dr. Christine Pieton, PT, DPT, a sport & pelvic floor physical therapist and founder of Pieton Physical Therapy in Santa Barbara, CA. I have helped hundreds of women feel strong and confident again in their bodies. Check out some testimonials to see what others are saying!
What is the time commitment?
For the best results, expect to spend about 20 minutes every other day (3-4x/week) repeating the breathing and strengthening workouts.
How long until I see results?
With consistency you should start to feel improvements in your leaking symptoms in just a few weeks. What many of my patients notice as they get stronger is that their leaking becomes less frequent and/or less in volume over time. However, the body builds muscle in 12-week cycles, so it’s not unreasonable for some individuals to need a few months to become leak-free.
Will we be doing Kegels in this program?
In short, no. Kegels can actually create more tension in the pelvic floor and sometimes worsen stress urinary incontinence symptoms. Kegels also train the pelvic floor in isolation, but that’s not how it works in real life. Your pelvic floor works with and responds to the diaphragm, abdominals, hip and spinal muscles. All of these need to be trained to work together! For a deeper dive into this topic see my blog post.
What equipment will I need?
The following equipment is recommended: a set of yoga blocks, a long resistance band, a resistance band loop, a chair and a dumbbell (I use a 10 lbs dumbbell in the videos). Links to these items are included in your welcome email if you want recommendations.
Can I access the course on my computer, phone, and tablet?
Yes to all 3! The course can be accessed on any device just like a normal website. For a more polished mobile experience look for a link to download the Thinkific app in your welcome email after you purchase the course.
How long will I have access to the course?
Your purchase gives you lifetime access to the course.
